It's official! Canada is finally getting the iPhone. Rogers hasn't given a release date yet or even a price but at least it's a step in the right direction. I'm not going to get too excited about this yet, especially considering the price of Rogers data plans.
Rogers has made some steps in the right direction by providing some form of unlimited data plans. They have always said that they don't like the idea of an unlimited plan.... I wonder why, probably because they can't rob their customers if they're giving them an unlimited plan. Instead they have to find ways to trick them so they give them an "unlimited" plan for $7 a month which is only good if you're using their authorized phone and the browser. Any Third party apps still cost extra, so really it's $7/month to browse on a tiny screen, browsing was better on my 486...
I love apple hardware, I don't think I could live without my iPod and I'm becoming extremely attached to my Apple TV. The G4 upstairs has it's use but I rarely use it, I will continue using Ubuntu on my Dell for my computing needs but that's another story.... I'm just not sure I'm comfortable buying an Apple device from a company who has proven to me that they don't care about their customers. But I've never been unhappy with an apple product but I never bought a newton. I'm not sure if I'm ready to buy a $400+ phone from the devil, although it could be worse... At least it's not Bell.
